Total control via Silverlight web client interface extends to automatic generation of viewable proxies using Microsoft’s Expression Media Encoder 2

A glimpse of the not-too-distant future will be provided on the ROOT6 Technology booth in which multiple clients are able to access the ContentAgent universal content repurposing platform via the web to view and manage digital media.
Written in Silverlight and utilising Microsoft’s Expression Media Encoder 2, the interface enables users to select any file on the system for viewing. Proxies of larger files such as AVIs are created automatically for streaming online.

ContentAgent provides a toolset to simplify and streamline the repurposing of digital content. At the front end, the intuitive ‘real-world’ GUI has been designed for non-technical operators who can utilise templates to automate all aspects of file import, capture, transcoding, output and distribution. Interactive DVDs are also easily created using the integral burner with no prior authoring experience required.
Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser plug-in for Windows, Mac and Linux, delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the web.
The implementation of Silverlight for ContentAgent is expected to be included in the next major software release and will be available to existing users.
