The Media Trimmer Node (introduced in v2.5) can be used with AVI and MPEG2 files to trim the beginning and/or end of a clip and is ideal for such tasks as trimming pre-roll black, clocks or bars and tone.
To use the Media Trimmer, select it from the list of tools in the workflow builder menu and create a new template for it.
The Media Trimmer menu provides options for enabling start and/or end trims and a choice of using either timecode or frames for setting trims. With either method, the trim length is calculated in relation to the start or end of the clip.
To trim 10 seconds off the end of a 5 minute clip, then, you would need to enter 00:00:10:00 into the end trim length window and not the actual clip timecode of the new end point.
When you've finished setting up the template, give it a name, save it and then you can start using the trimmer in your workflows by dragging it into the workflow builder.
Finally, once you've added the trimmer to your workflow, simply connect its output to a Platinum node set to the file format you want to generate and away you go.
