ContentAgent clustering cuts job queue

Intelligent shared processing will maximise investment and eliminate bottlenecks

NAB 2008 Las Vegas, April 14

Visitors to the ROOT6 Technology booth at NAB will be able to learn about Clustering - a new feature under development for ContentAgent, its popular universal content repurposing platform.

ContentAgent Clustering will enable users with multiple systems to input new transcoding jobs which will then be automatically allocated to individual processors across the clustered units. Existing customers will also be able to add further CPUs increasing performance and spreading the workload.

“Many ContentAgent customers have purchased multiple machines,” said Product Manager Kevin King. “We need to ensure that all systems are working to capacity all of the time. Clustering will eliminate bottlenecking in busy transcoding environments and make the most of our customers’ investment.”

ContentAgent provides a comprehensive toolset to simplify the repurposing of digital content. At the front end, the intuitive ‘real-world’ GUI has been designed for non-technical operators who can utilise templates to automate all aspects of file import, capture, transcoding, output and distribution. Interactive DVDs are also easily created using the integral burner with no prior authoring experience.
