Major new software release for ContentAgent prompts hardware shift to standard platform

V2.4 slashes cost yet extends functionality

NAB 2008, Las Vegas, April 14

ContentAgent, the universal content repurposing platform from ROOT6 Technology will be demonstrated for the first time with new V2.4 software. As well as adding some important features, the new software enables the original bespoke hardware to be replaced by an HP workstation.

“The advantages to our customers are clear and immediate,” said ROOT6 Technology MD Marcus Hume-Humphreys. “By partnering with HP and moving to a standard platform we can be considerably more competitive and give ContentAgent users the added security of the support available from the manufacturer and our reseller network.”

A complete turnkey ContentAgent SD system is now available at sub $20,000 with the HD version shipping at sub $30,000.

Consolidating its position as the natural heart of file-based production, ContentAgent now provides support for the MFX wrapper format through a collaboration with OpenCube Technologies. Sony XDCAM and Panasonic P2 formats may now be imported for transcoding along with associated metadata.    ContentAgent can also output Avid-compatible MXF and DNxHD files.

Output options are further extended with V2.4 to include HD SDI with multi-channel AES or analogue audio supported. Automated output to ftp, web, email, RSS and interactive DVD make ContentAgent extremely versatile.

Also demonstrated at NAB will be the results of technology integration with leading DVD duplicator and printing organisation, Rimage. ContentAgent users will be able to extend the DVD authoring capabilities within the system and output multiple copies with high quality direct-to-disc printing.
