ContentAgent v2.5 introduces Blu-Ray authoring in the first truly automated High Definition dailies deliverables system for film and episodic deliveries. Also new is a software-only version for file based workflows, and two new products, ContentCentral and JobAgents that streamline workflow and cut costs in transcode-intensive environments.
NAB 2009, Las Vegas, April 18
ContentAgent, the universal platform for managing, transcoding and distributing digital media files will be transformed at NAB with the introduction of three important new developments.
Utlizing ROOT6 Technology’s proprietary Platinum Engine for transcode processing, the new v2.5 release for ContentAgent obviates the need for specialised hardware in file-based workflows.
New features incorporated in the latest release, include automated Blu-Ray authoring with integrated Rimage disc publishing, a new MPEG2 codec, Player gamma-level adjustment, Media Assembler and Trimmer Nodes. All of these new features will be included as standard with v2.5.
Blu-Ray Authoring
ContentAgent has long been renowned for making DVD authoring simplicity itself and, with v2.5, now extends that simple yet powerful toolset to make easy work of Blu-Ray authoring, as well. Furthermore, new features such as "Circle Takes" add a new level of versatility to cement ContentAgent's role as the ideal dailies solution - Read More
Media Assembler Node
A new tool to merge clips/reels into one single clip; ideal for such tasks as topping and/or tailing clips with credit sequences or bars and tone - Read More
Trimmer Node
This new tool can trim the beginning and/or end of a clip and is ideal for such tasks as trimming pre-roll black, clocks or bars and tone - Read More

For larger scale transcode-intensive environments, ROOT6 Technology introduces the benefits of parallel processing with ContentCentral and JobAgents.
ContentCentral is a job distribution server with cluster management to intelligently manage and distribute rendering across JobAgents - low-cost render accelerators.
Running on V.3 ContentAgent software, the combination of ContentCentral and JobAgents will enable users with multiple systems to input new transcoding jobs which will then be automatically allocated to individual JobAgent processors across the clustered units. Scalable as requirements change, further JobAgents may be added at will to increase performance and spread workload.
“In the current climate it’s particularly important that customers’ investment is maximised at all times, “ said ContentAgent Product Manager Kevin King. “These new developments provide an extremely cost-effective solution in busy transcode operations ensuring all systems are working to capacity and that bottlenecks are eliminated.”

ContentAgent provides a comprehensive toolset to simplify the repurposing of digital content in all commonly used formats including 2K and 4K DPX files and R3D format for RED camera workflows. At the front end, the intuitive ‘real-world’ GUI has been designed for non-technical operators who can utilise templates to automate all aspects of file import, capture, transcoding, output and distribution. Interactive DVDs and Blu-Ray discs are also easily created and published through integration with Rimage.
