Press Releases - IBC2009 Rimage Stand Alone Authoring

Rimage Corporation & ROOT6 Technology Showcase Stand Alone, End-To-End Disc Authoring

Facilities with existing MPEG material now have simple fully automated solution for authoring and publishing SD/HD material to DVD and Blu-ray discs.

Seen for the first time at IBC is the result of an ongoing technology collaboration between Rimage Corporation, a world leader in disc printing, publishing and duplication and ROOT6 Technology, creators of ContentAgent, the popular universal content repurposing platform.

Designed for media facilities with MPEG material that need to create DVDs or Blu-ray discs for internal review or client approval, the system a uniquely comprehensive, streamlined and easy-to-use solution.
Incorporating a number of key components from ContentAgent for intuitive DVD and Blu-ray authoring, the stand-alone system is fully integrated with Rimage publishing to produce high-quality printed discs. The workflow may be entirely automated and is suitable for operation by non-technical operators.

Following the import of MPEG files together with associated metadata, the Disc Burn feature enables the interactive menu and navigation to be set up using a range of graphics tools provided. No prior authoring experience is necessary. The integrated Rimage label designer ensures a continuity of look and style, facilitates high quality direct to disc printing and duplication to order.

"This innovative process provides media facilities with the best of both worlds," maintains ROOT6 Technology MD Marcus Hume-Humphreys. "The integration of two leading and proven technologies in one easy-to-use system delivers a hitherto unachievable solution for those who need to create personalised DVDs and Blu-ray discs from MPEG sources."
