New features include extended output options, end-to-end DVD publishing and support for RED ONE camera
IBC, Amsterdam Sept 11 2008… The latest V2.4.5 software release demonstrated for the first time at IBC adds considerable features and functionality to ContentAgent, the universal content repurposing platform from ROOT6 Technology.
Following the partnership with Hewlett Packard announced at NAB, ContentAgent now runs on a standard HP xw8600 workstation with the associated benefits of both enhanced performance and HP’s global support network.
With new V2.4.5 software, ContentAgent’s SDI output options are extended; systems equipped with HD cards now allow both HD and SD formats to be played out frame-accurately to tape. On-the-fly up scaling and downscaling are supported.
Full integration with Rimage Digital Publishing Systems includes DVD label design, printing and mass duplication tools. This now makes ContentAgent the heart of a complete end to end DVD production system from encoding/transcoding and DVD authoring to label design and high quality disc printing. Like all ContentAgent workflows, the process may be fully automated to facilitate operation by non-technical staff.
Improved audio features have been incorporated with ROOT6 Technology’s Platinum Transcode Engine. These include audio normalisation and multichannel patching.
Further automation is now made possible with an XML based API. This allows external applications or scripts to initiate capture workflows stored on ContentAgent.
A new Decision Mode allows workflows to be branched according to metadata parameters.
Consolidating its position as the natural heart of file-based production, ContentAgent provides support for the MXF wrapper format through collaboration with OpenCube Technologies. Sony XDCAM and Panasonic P2 formats may now be imported for transcoding along with associated metadata as part of an optional package. ContentAgent can also output Avid-compatible MXF and DNxHD files, again as part of an optional add-on.
Logo burn-in during capture is supported in V2.4.5. Fade-in, fade-out, duration and repeat cycles are all customisable on a per clip basis.
ContentAgent’s application in a digital dailies environment is further enhanced by support for the Red codec allowing ContentAgent to transcode raw R3D files and low-res proxies.
V2.4.5 software will ship post IBC and will be free of charge to ContentAgent customers with a Software Maintenance Agreement.
