Red Bee Media's expertise comes from the long standing provision of these services to the BBC and UKTV. Its clients now also include other broadcasters such as Virgin Media TV, ESPN, Discovery and Star Television India as well as telecommunications companies such as Orange.
Adrian Huckfield uses ContentAgent in the Format Transfer Area of the organisation, where the integrated DVD authoring features in ContentAgent are much employed. “I’m from a tape background,” explains Adrian, “and although I still frequently capture clips from tape, it’s becoming increasingly common to import the media from memory sticks, hard drives and DVDs. The file formats are mixed but predominantly QuickTime and MPEG.
“Authoring interactive DVDs with ContentAgent is straightforward and easy to understand. The job templates define the processes and you can just let the system get on with the work in the background. There are tools to create backgrounds, graphics and button styles which make it easy to create a good-looking professional result.”
Red Bee Media use Rimage technology for DVD duplication and direct-to-disc label printing which, following an integration agreement in spring 2008, will be incorporated within ContentAgent making it a complete end-to-end DVD production system.
